Selena Etc Inc.

Selena Etc. Inc. was a boutique and beauty salon created by Selena, blending her passion for fashion with her growing business empire. With locations in Texas, the boutiques featured Selena’s personal style and gave fans a glimpse into her vision as both an artist and entrepreneur.

The boutiques were located in Corpus Christi and San Antonio. A boutique in Monterrey was in the works of being built but due to her tragic passing the boutique was never opened. Both boutiques were eventually closed, the San Antonio location was closed in 1999 and the Corpus Christi location was closed in 2009.

Why did Selena open a Boutique?

In an interview for a San Antonio News Station, Selena explained her inspiration behind creating her boutiques, saying, ‘Fashion is tied in with entertainment—people like to see glamorous things, and I thought it would be nice to have my own line of clothing. To me, I wanted to prove that I was intelligent enough to be a businesswoman, apart from being an entertainer.

Selena put this beautiful two-piece rainbow outfit up for sale at her boutique in December of 1994.
The outfit was supposedly removed because the outfit was too revealing.
Selena wore this outfit for her last performance on the TV program "Padrisimo" on March 8th , 1995.
